Welcome to Chesapeake International Arts

Chesapeake International Arts (CIA) was founded us, Bob and Susan Jones, in 2015.

We have been musical and literary artists most of our lives with equal measures of business and administrative education and experience.  Since retiring to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, we have been performing a variety of programming for organizations and events throughout the region under the banner of Chesapeake International Arts.

Serving People, Organizations & Events

Susan Jones – Musician, Author, Entertainer

Susan is a versatile classical pianist and clarinet recitalist, a published author aka Words’Worth, and entertains with themed presentations that combine music and her unique “vocabulary verse”.

Bob Jones – Multi-Woodwind Musical Artist

A multi-woodwind musician, saxophones (soprano, alto, tenor), clarinet, and flute, fluent in both classical and commercial genres, performs with his wife Susan (piano, clarinet) or solo with backing tracks.

Our specialty “choro” music is unique to us on the Eastern Shore. Known as Brazil’s ragtime music, it can be plangent and melancholy or lively, breezy, and full of joyous improvisation. It will differentiate your event and make it memorable.

In a casual concert setting, Bob and Susan deliver music from gospel to popular favorites to lightly swinging jazz, and their signature Brazilian choro along with anecdotes and humor about their career experiences, the music, and the composers and performers who created it.

Your Music Solutions

Whether it is a cocktail party, formal dinner, birthday or holiday, a dance or ceremony, a church service, a senior community music series or an interactive educative experience, Bob and Susan have done it before and would like to be your music solution.

Educative Opportunities

Bob has taught hundreds of private pupils, a number of whom became scholarship winners and professional musicians. Susan has been a music teacher, a legal researcher, and reference librarian. Both enjoy incorporating interactive educative aspects into their performances, whenever appropriate, for both young and mature audiences. They also give private lessons on woodwinds and piano.
